Star Wars 8: Kylo Ren to face Snoke’s WRATH after FAILING orders? ‘He’s frightened’

.

Episode 8 is due out in cinemas in two months’ time, and this week’s new trailer has refreshed speculation on what exactly will happen.

A notable moment features Snoke (Andy Serkis), seen in person for the first time, torturing Rey (Daisy Ridley).

As he is heard saying, “Fulfil your destiny”, it is easily assumed that he is delivering this order to Rey. But is that really the case?

Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh, who boasts 94,000 YouTube subscribers, reckons it’s a misdirect – and that line is actually delivered to Kylo (Adam Driver) when ordering him to deliver his most difficult challenge yet: killing his mother.

The trailer also sees Kylo emotional as he hovers his finger over a trigger, appearing to grapple with the possibility of shooting Leia (Carrie Fisher) in her ship.

But after he killed his father Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in Episode 7, and seemingly was made all the weaker for it, is it fair to assume that he won’t go through with shooting down Leia?

“Why is he telling Ren that [‘fulfil your destiny’]?” Zeroh said. “I believe it’s the beginning of him telling Ren to kill your own mother – kill Leia and the past forever.

“And that’s when Kylo leaves, tries to take his mother out, but can’t bring himself to do it.

“And that’s when we see him destroying the helmet.”

We saw Rey being tortured – but does the line of dialogue get used elsewhere?

This would obviously have huge implications for Kylo going forward, if he were to have to explain to Snoke why he failed in his task.

“He gets mad [at himself] for failing, bases the helmet, and he’s very frightened to explain this to Snoke,” Zeroh theorised.

“I think this is when the whole kneeling on the floor segment comes into play, or it could be before that.”

Of course, at this point, this is all speculation – and we have a few weeks to go yet before we get any answers.

Star Wars bosses announced earlier this week that the trailer was seen more than 120 million times across multiple platforms in its first 24 hours, so interest is clearly almighty.

Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi is out on December 14 in the UK.
