Jose Mourinho's side are closing in on a place in the last 16 of the Champions League

Manchester United will all but qualify for the last 16 with three points at Old Trafford tonight.

They have a 100% record so far and won 1-0 in Portugal two weeks ago.

Mourinho has been in a testy mood in recent weeks after criticism for his defensive play.

And he had a dig at fans ahead of the game after sections of the crowd booed during the win over Tottenham.

"The players have given absolutely everything and even if they hadn't won (against Spurs), then I would have been proud of them.

"To play like that and get three points, I was really happy with them and, obviously the result.

"Those are the levels of professionalism and commitment that I always want to see in every game we play.

"I hope against Benfica we can do just as good a job, take another big step towards the knockout stages of the Champions League.

"I hope that you (the fans) enjoy the game more than some of you did against Tottenham."

And Mourinho has opted to hand Scott McTominay a debut and has reverted to a back four.

Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard flank Romelu Lukaku with McTominay in midfield with Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
