Freeview is down and not working across the UK
8AM UPDATE: After things appearimng to be fixed Freeview is still offline for some users this morning.
ORIGINAL STORY: Freeview appears to be down this evening with users of the popular TV player complaiing that it is currently not working.
The issues appear to have begun around 7pm tonight with outage affecting large parts of the UK.
London, the south east and south west all appear to be hit by the troubles with outage website, Down Detector showing hundreds of errors.
Posting a message on Down Detectors website one users said: "Poor signal quality across multiple channels BBC1,2 Chan 4, 5 etc on HD and Standard Channels. including bake off final near Dorchester Dorset."
Whilst another added: "Ok every channel has now disappeared, back to old days with a mug of broth and a flicker of candlelight."
It's currently unkown what is causing the problems.

Along with comments on Down Dectector, there's also plenty of angry Freeview users who have taken to social media to complain about the outage.
On Twitter user posted the comment: "@FreeviewTV anything wrong? Your website is down and we’ve got virtually no signal where we are, many other effected."
Whilst another vented thier frustration by tweeting: "Sick and tired of freeview not working properly. It's ridiculous in this day and age that it is so hard to get a reliable tv signal."
Freeview launched back in 2002 with it allowing UK households to access content without paying a premium.
The Freeview service underwent a major upgrade on 3 September 2014 which required 18 million households to retune their Freeview receiving equipment. The changes included a reshuffle of the Children's, News, and Interactive genres.
