F1 news: Lewis Hamilton to sign world record Mercedes deal

.

The Brit clinched his fourth Drivers’ Championship at the Mexican Grand Prix at the weekend, despite riding home in ninth place.

And now he is hoping to sit down with Mercedes chief Toto Wolff to discuss his future.

Hamilton’s current deal expires at the end of the next season and it is thought he is wanting to stay with the German manufacturer until at least 2021.

In clinching the world championship in Mexico, Hamilton became Britain's most successful driver of all time.

Hamilton doesn't expect too many complications when it comes to sorting out the new deal.

"It is quite an easy process for us," Hamilton said.

"We already have something in place and it's really just about extending it and enhancing it, working on what more I can do for them, for the sponsors, the brand and vice versa.

"I'm enjoying driving more than ever,” Hamilton said.

“Whether it's a few [years], a couple, or one, I'm still going to be here next year and I hope for a little time beyond that.
